Sex Drive

Directed by Sean Anders, with a screenplay with Sean Anders and John Morris with Josh Zuckerman , Clark Duke, Amanda Crew, James Marsden and Seth Green.

Sex Drive is a teen age sex comedy picking up where Porky’s in the 80’s and America Pie in the 90’s left off. Basically it is about a virgin who wants to get laid.

The X Files:I Want To Believe
Russell Dandridge

Directed by Chris Carter

Starring: David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Amanda Peet, Billy Connolly, Alvin "Xzibit" Joiner

Rated: PG-13 (for violence, disturbing content)

What is the truth, well, unfortunately for "X-Files: I Want to Believe" it might not be want you want to hear. Unless you are really fond of the characters Scully and Mulder, this movie is a typical one with a script that does not get started until way too long into the film.

It had been rumored it would be a stand alone, that worked for me, but as a fan of the television series I still needed something paranormal to remind me of that old show I knew and loved. Set in West Virginia, but shot in British Columbia, an ex-priest played excellently by Bill Connolly is seeing psychic visions, but it is questionable if he really is or not...

Overture Films

Rated PG-13

The cast put together for this film couldn’t offer more. With Diane Keaton, Katie Holmes and Queen Latifah all offering standout performances, the only real problem is the few plot holes, but it’s a feel good movie so it still works. Director Callie Khouri is always able to come through in her films and with a stellar cast everyone shines.

The big hype has been, of course, Holmes since this is her big film since she married - you know who...

The Orphanage
Rita Cook

Rated R

Spanish with English subtitles

"The Orphanage" is Spain’s nomination for Best Foreign Film, and with it producer, Guillermo del Toro brings his work to theatres once again. A good cast, but not names most of the general public will be familiar with in the United States, the logline touts the film as "A woman discovers dark secrets hidden within her cherished childhood home in this supernatural thriller."

Eerie, and certainly not appropriate for young children (they likely would not be able to read the subtitles anyway), the main character, Laura, returns to her childhood home, an orphanage by the sea in Spain where she grew up enjoying a wonderful childhood. She returns with her husband and seven-year-old son in hopes of giving back by opening the old mansion as a place for sick children...
